Is it safe to connect my bank with Plaid?

How PeakWorth uses Plaid, what we can and cannot see, and what happens if you disconnect.

PeakWorth connects to your financial institutions through Plaid, the same data-aggregation service used by Venmo, Robinhood, and most major U.S. fintech apps. You enter your bank credentials directly into Plaid's secure modal — they are never sent to PeakWorth.

What we receive

  • Account names, types, and current/available balances
  • Transactions (date, amount, description, merchant category)
  • Holdings and positions for investment accounts

What we do not receive

  • Your bank username or password
  • Your debit-card PIN
  • The ability to move money — read-only access only

Disconnecting

Go to Profile → Connected Accounts and click Disconnect on any institution. We immediately stop syncing and delete the Plaid access token. Historical transactions stay in your account so your past net-worth trend stays intact; delete them explicitly via Account → Data & Privacy → Delete account if you want them gone.
